Won't
the cameramen be obtrusive and disruptive?
We have heard horror stories
of bright lights during the ceremony and Videographer being pushy
and dressed in appropriately, that is not professional to say the
least. The kindest compliment anyone ever gives us is, "I never even
saw you all day". We make every effort to record your wedding
unobtrusively, remaining stationary at the ceremony and using a
documentary style in all of our taping. Except for rare occasions,
we never set up shots or ask you to do something for the camera.
Will you
use wireless microphones?
We use a professional
lavaliere UHF wireless microphone and it is usually the groom who is
chosen to wear it. The microphone picks up sound within 10-12 ft.
What if my
church has restrictions on video?
It is the client’s
responsibility to find out if there are any restrictions on
videography wherever the event takes place, and to notify the studio
well in advance. Many churches and synagogues have guidelines, such
as no flash photography and no moving around during the ceremony,
and understandably so. The place of worship is not a television
studio. We strive to place a camera in a position which affords us a
clear view of your faces during the ceremony. This is not always
possible, because some churches restrict the camera position to a
limited area. And it is not always the best position from a
cameraman point of view. Be sure to find out what is allowed before
the day of the event and let us know, so we can discuss your
particular situation. Vid-Cam Productions asks for access to the
site of the ceremony 1 hour prior to the scheduled starting time in
order to set up our equipment.
When does
your coverage start?
We typically start recording
at the Rehearsal and about 30 minutes before the ceremony.
How much
do you charge?
Call for free quotes.
You must not forget that Quality is Priceless! We have over 20 years
video production experience, and use high-quality professional
equipment. A selection of several packages is available to you, as
well as a custom designed production. The price is affected to some
degree by how elaborate post production editing is. We encourage you
to shop around and compare, but please LOOK at the actual work,
don’t just shop by phone.
How long
will the finished tape be?
We like to edit a complete
production down to a 2 hour DVD. Rehearsal, Pre-ceremony coverage,
ceremony and reception. Our editing may take us up to 35-40
hours to put the edited version together. Delivery time of the
finished video is around 3 to 4 weeks. We encourage everyone to
gather all photos for the Childhood Montage, as well as all musical
selections, and give them to us 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
Otherwise we find that if you wait until after the event to get
these materials to us , it results in unnecessary delays.
Do I have
a choice of music?
Yes, we encourage you to
select music for the photo montage. The studio requests that you
provide all music to be used (preferably on CD) and assume all
responsibility in respect to copyright laws. We will help you with
the music selection as needed.
Can I make
copies of my wedding DVD?
Although it is illegal to copy
a tape that has a copyright, we generally do not object to that, and
do not treat duplication as a revenue source. But, we want you to
know, that any copies that you make will suffer serious degradation.
The colors will not be as vibrant and in overall there will be a
loss in sharpness. All of our copies are made either from our
digital editing system or the DVD edit master to provide for the
best picture quality.
Should I
provide a meal for the Videographer?
We are on the
job for sometimes up to 10 hours between the time we arrive at the
ceremony and the time we leave the reception. It is a welcome
courtesy if you provide a meal for your Videographer, and to provide
it quickly so that we are ready to work again at a moments notice.
It is very important to do this the same time as when the main
course is being served.
What about
those obtrusive interviews?
We kindly go
around from table to table and ask politely, "would anyone like to
say something for the bride and groom". This puts your guests at
ease, and they are more willing to participate and gives everyone a
chance to say something. Be sure to let us know if you want
interviews of anybody in particular.
Can you
send me a sample DVD?
It is our
policy to not send out samples of our work. We prefer meeting our
prospective clients in person and to show samples of our tapes. This
allows us to get to know you and for you to get to know us. This is
a very personal service that we provide and we feel that we cannot
deliver our best work if we do not meet the principal people
involved in the event. The great majority of our work is done by
referral.
Please call us
if you have any further questions.
Thanks again!
